March Meeting Features Military History, First Swap Sale

By David Moss KE8DI

The March meeting of the Kalamazoo Amateur Radio Club will be Thursday March 16, 2017 at the Greater Kalamazoo Red Cross . The Program will have to do with historical military radios. The Meeting starts at 7:00 P.M. and the doors open at 6:30.

Club Vice President, Charles Agosti, will present a movie Hallicrafters Goes to War and The Golden Age of Army MARS in Viet Nam. There will be a display of a Collins MARS radio from the 1965 era as well as early WWII radio equipment showing the advancement in portable transceivers before and after Pearl Harbor.

Starting with this meeting we will offer a “Junk in the Trunk” table top swap meet. This is an opportunity for members to bring ham radio equipment and related items they wish to sell and for other members to shop. As this is a table-top event and space is limited, consider bringing just one item. Expect this to become a regular part of future KARC Meetings.
